Types of Backflow Preventers
Double Check Valve (DC)
Double Check Valve Assemblies are designed for use in non-health hazard cross-connections and continuous pressure applications subject to backpressure or backsiphonage incidents such as lawn sprinklers, fire sprinkler lines, commercial pools, tanks and vats, and food cookers.
Reduced Pressure Principle (RPZ)
A Reduced Pressure Principle Backflow Assembly provides high hazard protection against backsiphonage and backpressure in potable water applications such as irrigation systems, boiler feed lines, water lines, and other installations requiring maximum protection.
Pressure Vacuum Breaker (PVB)
Pressure Vacuum Breakers are designed to be installed to provide protection against back siphonage of toxic or non-toxic liquids. They are usually used on lawn irrigation systems but not limited to them.
Spill Resistant Vacuum Breaker (SPVB)
Spill Resistant Vacuum Breakers are designed to prevent the reverse flow of polluted water from entering into the potable water supply due to backsiphonage on indoor applications. Some applications may be dishwashers or steam pots.
